Aloe Vera is widely known for its moisturising and soothing properties. It is commonly used to soothe dry, irritated skin and was traditionally applied to inflamed or burnt skin.

BAKUCHIOL

INCI: Bakuchiol

Bakuchiol is a plant-derived skincare ingredient, extracted from the Bakuchi (Psoralea corylifolia) plant. Bakuchiol is a powerful antioxidant that can reduce skin discolouration caused by environmental exposure whilst having a profound soothing effect on the skin. Bakuchiol also has the desirable effect of reducing fine lines and wrinkles.

Due to its similar actions, Bakuchiol is often touted as a natural alternative to retinol and can be used in conjunction with retinol containing products.

INCI: Panthenol

Commonly known as D Panthenol helps skin to retain moisture, stay soft and elastic. As the name suggests, Provitamin B5 is rapidly converted in to vitamin B5 (Pantothenic Acid) once it has been absorbed into the skin.

CITRIC ACID

A mild natural acid found in many living things, citrus fruits are a particularly rich source. It is used to adjust (lower) the pH during manufacture and finished formulations of skincare products.

Oatmeal is a gentle ingredient that has long been used to soothe dry, irritated and inflamed skin conditions. Colloidal Oatmeal is simply dried whole oats that have been ground into a very fine powder enabling them to be dispersed in water.

An extremely mild and gentle non ionic surfactant naturally derived from sugar.
It is often recommended for sensitive skin and great for facial wash products, shampoo and body wash. Derived from sugar they are readily bio-degradable, low toxic, extremely mild and perform well in hard water conditions.

INCI: Camellia sinensis Leaf Extract

Green Tea contains a unique cocktail of phyto compounds such as theanine, caffeine, tryptophan, theobromine and catechins.

This extract is beneficial for acne and skin blemishes, fine lines, wrinkles and inflamed skin. It can also be used in pollution defense for under-eye area applications.

Glyceryl Stearate is used as a emulsifier to combine oil and water . This ingredient is made by taking glycerin from vegetable origin and reacting it with stearic acid.

100% Vegan Hyaluronic Acid (HA) can hold up to 1000 x its own weight in water and at a concentration of 1% it can bind 99% water. HA is naturally present in human tissues such as skin, ligaments, tendons and nerves. HA is found in both layers of the skin and has both protective and structure stabilizing functions. About a third of the total amount of HA in the entire human body is found in the skin. As we age, the content of HA in the skin decreases, which may contribute to loss of freshness, hydration, moisture and elasticity in the skin and the development of wrinkles.

Jojoba is similar in many ways to sebum produced by our own skin which is perhaps why it is so nourishing, protective and well-tolerated by skin. It penetrates the skin easily and can help to reduce water loss through the skin by forming a protective film. Jojoba oil is also an excellent emollient and moisturiser for young skin types as it helps to regulate sebum production and is non-comedogenic.

INCI: Glycyrrhiza glabra (Licorice) Root Extract

Considered one of the oldest herbal remedies, it comes from the root of the licorice plant Glycyrrhiza Glabra. The primary compound “glycyrrhizin” is a powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and is ideal for reactive and blemished skin conditions. “Glabridin” another super compound can be considered helpful for dark pigmented and dull skin areas.

NIACINAMIDE

Also known as Nicotinamide or Vitamin B3, Niacinamide is a well-researched ingredient that is beneficial for both acne-prone and mature skin types. Studies have shown that at a 2% concentration, Niacinamide can reduce Sebum production and at a 4% concentration will reduce inflammation and the number of acne lesions.
For mature skin types, it helps to increase the production of ceramides, cholesterol and fatty acids in the skin as well as reducing transepidermal water loss. It also acts to improve the surface structure of the skin helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and pigments spots whilst increasing the elasticity of the skin.

A combination of a naturally occurring food additives Glucono delta lactone (derived from corn) and a food-grade preservative Sodium Benzoate (the sodium salt of benzoic acid) along with a trace amount of calcium gluconate as a processing agent. Also called Geogard Ultra™ it is accepted by ECOCERT as a preservative in certified organic cosmetics.

Benzyl Alcohol (and) Dehydroacetic Acid

Microcare DB is a blend of an organic acid with benzyl alcohol which can be used for the gentle preservation of all personal care products. It is equally effective against a broad range of bacteria, moulds and yeasts and it is also accepted by ECOCERT as a preservative in certified organic cosmetics.

ROSEHIP CELLULAR EXTRACT

INCI: Rosa canina Fruit Extract

A powerful water-soluble Cellular Extract made from Rosehips. Rosehip is a rich source of Vitamin A (retinol) and Vitamin C. Many of the pharmacological properties and therapeutic claims surrounding Rosehip oil relate to its high content of flavonoids, o-ketonic compound (3-penten-propyl-ketone), and trans-retinoic acid. Used regularly, Rosehip has a deeply nourishing effect on ageing and dehydrated skin. It's useful for dry, damaged and irritated skin and helps to visibly reduce the appearance of wrinkles and uneven skin tone.

INCI: Rosa Damascena (Rose) Flower Water

A distinct product resulting from the distillation process of rose petals, not just water to which drops of essential oil have been added. This is a 100% pure and natural distillate. Rose hydrosol has its own unique qualities directly related to the properties of Rose essential oil. It is excellent for all skin types.

Rose is ideal to soothe and hydrate dry sensitive skin, and is especially beneficial for mature skin to soften, revitalise and calm redness.

SALICYLIC ACID

A beta hydroxy acid (BHA) found in many plants but its most common sources are White Willow and Salix alba. Salicylic acid is most commonly found in products used to combat acne. It acts as a comdeolytic and bacteriostatic agent, meaning it stimulates the shedding of dead skin cells, unclogs pores and inhibits the growth of potentially acne-causing bacteria.

A natural basic mineral that is used to adjust (raise) the pH during manufacture and in finished formulations of skincare products. The Sodium Bicarbonate RENA uses is aluminum free.

Sodium Lactate is a liquid salt that is naturally derived from the fermentation of natural sugars. As a salt, it is also a natural humectant, providing moisture to skin. This is used in RENA formulations as an alternative to alcohol and ethanol for dissolving Salicylic Acid Crystals .

Sunflower oil is one of the most versatile oils available for personal care products as it is high in both Linoleic and Oleic Acids. This combination makes it a relatively stable but naturally nourishing oil. It has excellent emollient properties and is rich in Vitamin E which is an important antioxidant for the protection of oils in our skin.

SEA BUCKTORN FRUIT OIL

INCI: Hippophae rhamnoides

An oil rich palmitoleic and palmitic acid as well as vitamin E and carotenoids - which give it its distinct orange colour. Palmitoleic acid has been shown to have anti-microbial properties and to inhibit melanin synthesis in the skin. It may also enhance the skin penetration of other oil-soluble actives.
Studies have confirmed anti-inflammatory, antioxidative and regenerative properties for Sea Buckthorn Fruit oil. Sea Buckthorn oil is particularly suitable for the care of irritated and inflamed skin.
